Seychelles Holidays: The Best Time For Your Seychelles Trip

When is the best time for a Seychelles vacation? This is a question I am asked very often. And the answer really is a problem that has nothing to do with Seychelles. First of all, I must say that for a vacation in Seychelles there is no “best time” of the year. It’s nice 365 days on these islands. So…

Right now with low prices, not cheap but definitely more affordable if you are on a budget, now is a very good time for that Seychelles holiday. But before you rush out and buy a ticket to Seychelles today, I suggest you plan well and keep up with special offers, especially during low season.

Why the low season? It’s because that might be the best time for your own vacation depending on your situation. Knowing all of that will ensure you have the best vacation in Seychelles. You will see…

The high season in Seychelles is December. This is the time when visitors to Europe flee their cold winters. But I think that for such people this is the worst time to visit Seychelles. And the reason, which has nothing to do with Seychelles per se, is this…

It’s about acclimatization. Since there is no winter or summer as such in Seychelles, the best time for you really depends on where you live, if you are from the northern or southern hemisphere I say. I take it you’re not from the tropics. If so, you are among the lucky ones who get to enjoy Seychelles 365 days a day.

Most people don’t think about that when planning their exotic vacation in the tropics, but it’s more important to your enjoyment. If you are from the far north, I tell you to come to Seychelles from May to September; if you are from the far south, from October to April.

You see, it takes your body a while to acclimate, so you don’t want to travel to the tropics, yes, anywhere in the tropics, in the middle of your own winter. “Oh!” You say. Absolutely!

I have heard people say that December is hot in Seychelles, but that is not true. Yes, those people certainly feel hot because they have not acclimatized. That’s all. Do you think 29°C (84°F) is hot? Certainly not!

These people are from the far north latitudes and arrive in the middle of their own winter. So instead of enjoying the incredibly nice warm weather of Seychelles, they are dying to come home to the snow and cold. I do not blame them. So next time, before you travel, think about this issue and plan your vacation in the tropics accordingly.

There is nothing wrong with the weather in Seychelles in December or June (in fact, it is very good at any time). It’s just that your own body needs time to adjust, and you may not appreciate the great weather at your destination as much as you would have if you had planned your vacation with acclimatization in mind.

Seychelles has a moderately warm climate with an average of 27 to 29°C throughout the year. The temperature is almost constant 365 days – it’s never hot, just nice and warm. Here there is no winter, no summer or hurricanes, not like in the Caribbean. But if you arrive here from your cold winter you may think and even feel very hot…

How do I know this? Yes, I made the same mistake several years ago when I returned to the Seychelles after a 3 year stint at university in Europe, I made the mistake of staying there until early February in the middle of a cold winter before making my way back to the seychelles.

Wow, I felt the heat! You better believe it. Of course, after a week everything is fine, but do you have a free week before you continue on your vacation? You might acclimate quicker, but you were warned, I was there and did it.

The fact is that these islands are never hot. If you travel to the Seychelles in your own summer, you will find it warm and less harsh than yours. If you compare the Seychelles in June to southern Europe in summer, or the Seychelles in December to Australia and Argentina right then in their own summer, these islands stand out every time.
