Walking Planet Calypso

Going for a walk is a type of adventure in itself… maybe not as exciting as hunting, but definitely cheaper. Some people may find it boring, but walking across the land can be quite informative and you might see something unexpected.

A teleportation chip or vehicle are also great emergency devices to have with you. If you die and are revived in a remote outpost surrounded by mobs, it could be very difficult to get out any other way. The other things I like to have are a couple of bombs of mine (just for fun), a healing device or chip, a scanner, armor, and a weapon with ammo. None of this equipment is absolutely essential, of course. They simply give you choices in your activities while you walk.

Before you start your hike, you need to choose your starting point. I like to try to choose the area according to what I would like to learn. For example: what are those white dots on the map of Eudoria? Or is it really a volcano? Sometimes I look up the maps online and find a tp I haven’t been to yet, pick the closest location I have and aim to get the new one. It all depends on what you feel like doing at the time.

One of the main benefits of walking Calypso is becoming familiar with an area. Learn the terrain and be able to read maps accordingly. Knowing the crowds of an area and maybe finding things like a good mining site or fruit and stone.

Many times I have gone for walks and discovered revival outposts where I really didn’t think there would be one. Most of these I find when I die, of course, but they are still a discovery and I value all the information I can gather.

Walking Eudoria compared to Amethera is very different. There are many more revival and tp stations in Eurdoria and the mob is usually not as tightly packed or advanced as it is on Amethera. This has to do with the areas of land and what the owners have done with them. Also, much more of Amethera is pvp. Not that everyone you come across is out to kill you, but you never really know.

So if you find yourself a little low and maybe itching to try something new, go for a walk. Take in some of the scenery that you may never have paid attention to before.
