Wii-lly Good Fun Family Memories thanks to Wii Sports Games for Grand Kids and Granny Nanny

What do you get when you combine a black or white Wii console, great Wii sports games like tennis or bowling, three grandkids, and a Sandwich Generation granny nanny? You get a lot of laughs, a ton of funny moments, and so many special family memories. Yep, this baby boomer has gone over to the Wii side and he loves it! Even if I lose almost every game against three adorable rascals who are only 7 and 8 years old! (What can I say? It’s their game and they get WAY more practice than me!)

I had tried Wii a year ago when its console was shiny, shiny, and new. It looked interesting, but I just couldn’t figure out the remotes. Now it’s still shiny and shiny BUT…

It all started when a couple of adults in the family temporarily took the grandkids off the Wii to settle down and enjoy a fun game from my baby boomer past – the Mario Brother games, to be exact! I had really enjoyed it with my kids when they were little, and lo and behold, it was the same game played on the Wii. It turns out that you can download Wii games, including the original Mario Brother games that you fondly remembered playing on the little NES. Of course, I had to try. And I was thrilled to find that once I started playing a game I was pretty familiar with (even if it was over 15 years ago), I could figure out how to use the remote. (I probably could have figured it out sooner if I’d tried a bit. :)). From that moment on, I was hooked!

Now I have a great Wii book to help me, I’ve played several Wii sports games from bowling, tennis, baseball and even golf, and even have an occasional dose of Mario Brother games (grandkids don’t like it as much as I do). . Even better, I have wonderful family memories with my grandkids to add to my store of memories from when my kids were little (it goes so FAST), and it’s definitely great! I’ve even played with getting my own Wii for my house – hmmm, I wonder if they make a pink or red Wii console…
