Graduation Gift Ideas – Top 5 Gifts For Your Teacher

Now that school is almost out, it seems like everyone is racking their brains to find the perfect gift for their favorite grad. There are so many ideas for graduates, but what about teachers? I have always felt that special teachers deserve special gifts, mainly for putting up with their students. There aren’t that many teacher gift ideas on the internet, but there are some really unique and cool ones to consider. Here are my top five:

  1. Gift cards– When you think of gift cards, most immediately gravitate towards Spas, Restaurants and Big Box stores. For those on a tight budget, it may not seem like a viable option when shopping for more than one teacher. The truth is, even a gift card for as little as $5 with a personalized thank you letter is a great way to say thank you. Teachers always appreciate handwritten thank you letters, and the amount of the gift card pales in comparison to the importance of the gift actually being useful.
  2. The secret book box — They are boxes that look like books, in fact, they used to be books, but they have a unique touch. They look like a book, but they have a hidden secret compartment. Since these boxes come in a variety of book titles, these boxes can be customized for specific tastes. Since teachers love books, it is a perfect useful and fun gift.
  3. Bouquets of Flowers and Cookies – Everyone loves flowers, and you’d be surprised how few teachers receive them as a thank you. This is a gift that is often overlooked. They are easy to personalize and do not need to be wrapped. The same goes for a bouquet of cookies, it is a wonderful alternative to flowers and just as beautiful. There are so many attractive edible arrangements available now that are also very tasty. If you can’t afford a flower arrangement or cookies, consider putting together a seed packet. You can also put together a plain packet and a pot, since seeds are relatively cheap and you can find an inexpensive small pot at many discount and dollar stores.
  4. Fruit or Wine of the Month — I didn’t think much of my fruit of the month gift when I first received it, but after receiving my first box of special fruits I was looking forward to the next one. Fruit is always delicious and it’s always nice to come home to find that a gift has been delivered once again… months after the initial gift. They have different size packs for different budgets, so you should be able to find something in your price range.
  5. custom supplies — Teachers are always running out of supplies in the classroom. Get a custom pen set, or just shop for general supplies at your local dollar store. Teachers can always use pens, pencils, post-its, and notepads.

Whichever gift you choose, remember that all teachers love handwritten notes. Be sure to include one with any gift you give, because that alone can make the difference between showing genuine appreciation and generic thanks. Your teacher will no doubt be grateful either way.
