Famous for its luxury sedans and sports cars, the Jaguar brand is another vehicle manufacturer that keeps its fans and followers eager for the next creation it will launch on the roads and streets. Jaguar Cars is a vehicle manufacturer from Great Britain and with the vehicles it has built it has kept up with a wide range of competitors including brands such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Cadillac, Lexus, Infiniti and also the Lincoln.

One of the vehicles that runs under this brand is the Jaguar XJS. This is a luxury coupe and it has replaced the famous and world renowned Jaguar E Type. This was done in September 1975. The Jaguar XJS was actually based on the Jaguar XJ saloon. It is not as sporty as most Jaguar brand vehicles. However, it is still a grand tourer and it is also aerodynamic. During the development of this luxury, it was actually called the XK-F. The last of its kind was produced on April 4, 1996. In its place came the Jaguar XK8.

Upon its introduction, the Jaguar XJS was equipped with a V12 engine. Along with that, the owner of the Jaguar XJS could choose between a manual transmission or an automatic transmission, although the manual option was soon dropped from the options list. With this type of machine, the Jaguar XJS is capable of reaching 60mph in 6.9 seconds and can accelerate up to 150mph. The Jaguar XJS has been said to have a revolutionary aluminum construction using space age technology. Despite that fact, however, it has still been able to retain the sleek lines that have made Jaguar vehicles so popular.

This vehicle gained popularity very quickly when a television series that needed a vehicle appeared. The television series was the popular “Return of the Saint.” In this series, the hero, Simon Templar, played by Ian Ogilvy, drives an early Jaguar XJS with the registration number ‘ST 1’. And it was during this time that the miniature versions of the Jaguar XJS were made. These sold like hot cakes.
